Best pre-registered car deals 2020

Get fast delivery, save money, and even cut the cost of tax with a pre-registered car

Pre-registered cars are some of the best value models on the market. They combine the factory-fresh feel (and smell) of a new car with the lower prices of a used vehicle. In many ways they truly are the best of both worlds.

We've always got a great selection of deals like this available on BuyaCar, with some offers slicing as much as £8,000 off of the price of a well-equipped family car such as the Nissan X-Trail or Mercedes A-Class.

Unlike a brand-new model, there's no lengthy wait for the car to be built; it's ready for immediate delivery, with just a handful of miles on the clock. While these pre-registered vehicles won't have been sold to a customer before, they will normally have been registered to a dealership, so they'll already have their number plate and technically you'll count as the second owner.

Dealers normally pre-register cars to hit sales targets and the practice is so common that there's often plenty of engine, colour and specification choice. We've got some decent pre-registered deals for you here on BuyaCar, and these prices include a deposit contribution of £300, which is available with many of our finance offers.

Best pre-registered car deals

We've got a range of deals for you to explore, ranging from cheap small cars, through practical family cars and into the more exotic and sporty end of the spectrum. Whatever you're looking for, we're sure we've got an offer here to help you save money on a (virtually) brand new set of wheels.

Pre-registered Fiat 500 deals

The Fiat 500 is already a cheap car but buying a pre-reg example right now would save you more than £4,000 on the list price, making it even more affordable and frankly a bit of a steal.

This will be the last chance for a while to get a practically brand new Fiat 500 for a price as low as this, as the new generation model - which includes a fully electric version - is due to arrive over the next 12 months with a vastly inflated price tag.

Fortunately, cheap in the case of the Fiat 500 doesn't mean low-rent. It's a chic little car with bags of personality, and while it hasn't changed a great deal since it was launched, small updates here and there have kept it fresh and up to date.

The Lounge model we're looking at here comes equipped with air-conditioning, split rear seats for greater practicality, adjustable front seats and a height adjustable steering wheel, which makes it easier for drivers of all sizes to get comfortable.

The 1.2-litre petrol engine gives the 500 a nippy enough feel around town and though it's not the most economical engine available in a small car, real-world fuel bills are likely to prove very low.

Pre-registered Nissan X-Trail deals

Nissan X-Trail dCi 150 N-Connecta 4WD list price: £32,535
BuyaCar price from: £24,000
Monthly finance from: £354

Nissan's largest SUV brings potential for seven seats in an outer shell not dissimilar to the smaller and hugely popular Nissan Qashqai. It's 246mm longer, 14mm wider and 120mm taller than the Qashqai, but still smaller than a BMW X3 which is only available with seating for five.

This does mean that boot space with all seven seats up is only 135 litres, making the X-Trail useful only for a big family day trip - unless you've got a caravan to tow. Fold the seats down though and you'll open up 1,996 litres which is more than a Volvo XC90. So the practicality is there if you need it.

Although the 1.7-litre diesel engine is neither fast nor particularly economical - you'll be looking at around 40mpg in real world conditions, you do get good levels of equipment with N-Connecta models including cruise control, a height adjustable driver's seat and a powered hands-free tailgate.

The X-Trail is cheaper than rivals like the Skoda Kodiaq or Land Rover Discovery Sport, and this price represents a handy saving, considering we have pre-registered Nissan X-Trail models with as little as four miles available on BuyaCar at discounted prices.

Pre-registered Mercedes A-Class deals

Mercedes-Benz A200d Sport Auto list price: £29,465
BuyaCar price from: £22,980
Monthly finance from: £311

The Mercedes A-Class in Sport trim can cost almost £30,000 in its most expensive 2.0-litre diesel automatic form, but you can swipe nearly £6,500 straight off that but opting for a pre-reg model - in this case with just 16 miles run.

With this kind of price we'd consider buying one, too, especially as you get the intelligent MBUX media system with a seven-inch touchscreen display and a host of touch and voice controls to help you personalise your driving experience with your favourite ambient lighting and radio stations depending on the time of day.

Sport models include 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control and bright LED headlights, while the Executive pack increases the size of the central dashboard screen, and adds heated front seats. We also have pre-reg models of the Sport Executive offering savings of around £4,500.

A similar price point would get you keys to a Ford Focus or a base spec Volkswagen Golf, so if you're in the hunt for a well-equipped hatchback with a posh badge on the front you can't go too far wrong here.

Pre-registered BMW 4 Series Convertible deals

BMW 4 Series 420d M Sport Convertible list price: £44,445
BuyaCar price from: £30,137
Monthly finance from: £452

Ordinarily, it might be the BMW 4 Series' muscular looks that you notice first, perhaps made even better by this convertible version, as dropping the hard-top roof gives the 4 Series a brilliantly poised appearance.

But, perhaps more exciting than that is the incredible savings you could make by shopping for a pre-registered model. In 420d form, with 190hp delivering a 0-62mph time of 8.2 seconds, a huge £14,000 price cut makes this model in particular a hugely tempting proposition.

Or, if you're looking to push the envelope a little further, the 235d with xDrive and 313hp is currently available on BuyaCar for £38,020 with just 16 miles on the clock. That brings about a saving of £16,550, and now we're getting to the point where you could have yourself one of these and afford a practical family hatchback to park next to it for the same price as a brand new model.

Getting hold of a quality sports car is rarely so easily justified, so if you're itching to feel the wind in your hair there's really no better time to dive in to the market.
